Tom Ballard, the 17 year old son of the late Alison Hargreaves is taking his first steps into a career in climbing by attempting to be the youngest person to summit the Eiger. He intends to solo climb a classic Nordwand route in memory of his Mother who died in 1995 on K2 along with six others. The Sunday Times reports
