I'm headed to Davis, WV this weekend and was hoping to find some ice to climb while I was there. Does anyone know of dependable ice in that area? Looking for WI 3-4 leads or TR. I'm willing drive a little ways (< 1 hr) from where we're staying, so anything in the canaan valley, elkins, senneca rocks area, or even far SW maryland, etc would be splendid. Southern Fried Ice, I've heard, covers some stuff in WV. I'm trying to get my hands on that book right now, so I apologize if what I want is in there, not trying to be lazy but just haven't found the guide book yet.

bmapple, did you go? I've climbed ice in the Blackwater Falls gorge, but it wasn't much. One day I'll do an exploratory hike deeper down...
