So huh, where do I get Yates bashies from? I’ve looked around and I can’t find them to buy, EMS has #1, MMW has #1 and #2 but that’s all I can find.

If you feel like a road trip to Squamish there is a pretty good mix at Climb On. If you know exactly what you want then mail order is likely possible.

I was searching on Google and came across USOutdoor.com but I’ve never heard of them. They have single heads for .95 and Teds for 1.95, but like I said I never heard of them and I don’t feel comfortable ordering from companies I don’t know. Anyone have any info on them?

I've got a pile of Fish heads. Craftsmanship is great, and they stick good. Got em on a buch deal too, Sack-O-Fisheads I think.

Not trying to lure sales over here or anything..... but....
Copperheads and their close cousins, rivet hangers are all mostly the same. But, and this is a big one.... there have been a FEW failures of rivet hangers (the swaged loop style) that are commonly available in various sports stores, including the Mountain Shop in Yosemite Valley. I have zero doubt that the YATES stuff is top notch, but I would be wary of other manufacturers (not including FISH of course) producing these goods. Quality control is very much an issue with swaged goods, and there have been failures resulting in some giant falls that I know of.... like 100ft!!! My unbiased opinion is that I'd would be somewhat nervous using anything besides FISH or YATES heads and rivet hangers.

I've always made my own rivet hangers and copperheads. Haven't blown one out yet. Although I was a little nervous on the machine head pitch.

do you live in a cave in Colorado? Neptunes in Boulder has heads, or you can order from Fish, Yates.....

Unaweep has some of the best climbing around here in my opinion; I’m more into multipitch and not incredibly fond of sandstone though. I’m looking at the Black as soon as my shoulder heels. What else do you want to know?

Go with FISH heads and wire rivit hangers. I took a 120 foot fall when a rivit hanger was not swaged properly.
Where did I get it? The Yosemite Mountain Shop. Also have had one circle head fail from there. Multiple reports of #1 rivit hanger failures, do they care? Heck no.
When I order my heads, I get them ONLY from FISH. Why? As I'm now a little sensitive about it, FISH now tests the first one of each of my batches for breaking strength. This assures that there hasn't been wear on the swaging gear that makes it not crimp correctly.

Oh yeah...order a dubloon for the rivits that are broken or pounded in to deep. This way you don't have to use micro-scary wire hangers. These are washers with a bent and ground down inside edge. With a breaking strength of 1000+ pounds instead of the 250 pounds of a thin wire hanger.
