Spray paint on bouldering problems

Hey In short, I've been developping an area in my town for bouldering. Recently, I've noticed some colored dots (bleu red or white) at the beginning of the problems to indicate the starting holds, which in some case isn't even the right one... I'm pretty against it for my part. I think it's none ethical to volontary put spray paint on a bouldering problem especially if your a climber and especially when your not the one who cleaned/first ascent it.
I understand why would someone do this because sometime it's not really obvious to see the route. But thats what it's fun about it in the first place. Anyways I'm a little confused on how to see this. Whats your thought.
You'd better not go to Font.... If you want to dictate the "right" hold maybe you need a bigger paint can.... Seriously all the tree-hugger leave no trace ethics are fine (if a bit inconsistent in regards to bouldering) but try and see the big picture sometimes. If the area appears totally pristine then the addition of paint dots is offensive. I'm sure chalk is not used or diligently scrubbed.
