Are you asking if someone has ever shot film, or if we shot film recently? I carried my Pentax K1000 for years. It was loaded, Kodak 64 KodaCrome or Fuji 100. What are you wanting to know. Personally, I held out for a long time before going digital, the only regret I have is that I didn't switch sooner.

Get a digital. Just as digital was getting reasonable, I bought a big film camera. Cost about $1800. What a waste. Pixelation is much denser, zoom in better, develop cheaper, faster, and like computers, after two years they are half the price and twice as good. Not to mention if you are hanging off a cliff, a 24" zoom is heavy.

Or in my case, wait 7 years and buy a canon 1dmkII and save a TON Thing is a beast you can drop it 10 feet and it still shoots. Not to mention weather proof.

I bring up an old Olympus 35-RC on long multi pitches that the DSLR would be at risk or too heavy. It is made of METAL and is burly unlike most modern point and shoots and it can't run out of batteries. It has no light meter and you have to focus based on distance but this should be no problem with a photography background. The photos have that nice subtle film grain and turn out way cooler (before post processing) than most digital shots. I have several shots posted in my blog from doing Eagle Dance if you're curious to see. http://mattkuehl.blogspot.com/2011/11/eagle-dance-and-simple-life.html
