I've been climbing for 13 years but am fat and lazy. I can climb V2 outdoors. I haven't bouldered indoors but on toprope outdoors i can do 5.11a and on lead i can do 5.10b....am i ready for a bouldering comp coming up in 2 months? or should i hold off for a little while longer?

I think if it's your 1st comp. you have to compete with the "beginners" go for it.

If you want to compete go for it. I have only done one comp after only climbing for less than a year, I had a great time doing it and placed in the beginner division. I was actually kind of shamed that I placed. I was hoping for enough points to be bumped into the next category. But either way, it was a blast just being there and climbing with other peeps.

Yeah, definitely do it. Comps are super fun, and you will climb way harder than you expect to, I guess the atmosphere makes you do it.

Go for it. Comps are a great way to get psyched and add some motivation to your climbing.

If you go into it expecting a day of climbing with motivated people and good problems you will not be disappointed. Also, it's hard not to have that motivation rub off on you at least a little.
