I'm looking to go to the " rock the Boat " comp in Georgia on January 15. What kind of turnout is expected, is it worth going? Is it worth driving 8 hours?

Last year the Boat Rock comp had over 120 people on the day of the comp and it rained! Many of those people were registering as they watched heavy clouds come in.. they stayed and climbed despite knowing it would rain. This year we expect well over 150 people as the weather is forecasted as sunny and 50 degrees. Perfect weather. Boat Rock is a different experience... it is not HP40 or Little Rock CIty. It is textured granite eggs... much of which is climbed by balance and technique and not power. Overall the comp is really just a good time in the boulderfield with your friends. It is layed back and all just a big fundraiser to help raise money to pay off the mortgage on this climber owned, climber managed area. there is tons more info on www.seclimbers.org - look on the message boards. thanks for your support.
