That was entertaining! It's a pity controlling the last hold was so easy, but I guess the setters ran out of room.

Although it is a little long (~30 min) there are some interesting lines in the female competition as well.

I think I would be sort of upset if I was in a competition and that was one of the problems.

I know! that would be just irratating to have that prob. in a comp. especially sense I'm 5'2, so I couldn't reach that blue thing (I don't even know if it can be called a hold).

Same with Beth Rodden there are tons of short pro climbers who do just fine in comps.. you gotta figure out your own beta.. or just admit defeat and do better on a scrunchy route that the tall folks don't like.

On the bright side, it wouldn't have mattered at that comp anyway as you wouldn't have made it that far against those guys. The finals for Tour de Bloc tend to have a decent level of variety in climbing styles. Everyone gets something that plays to their advantage and everyone gets something that plays to their disadvantage. If something is weird then it's probably weird for everyone making it more or less a level field.

I would like to have seen someone try to mantle from a dead hang on that second to last blue hold... I think it could have made the first beta set work and would be pretty cool because they could have just stood up on the hold
