Many climbers, parents, and gym staff have put in alot of hard work in preparation for the Divisionals. I would like to hear how everyone's experiences were, be they good or bad. The more input we have, the better we can plan and run our comps.

Today was the first day of a two day event for Division 5 (VA north to the Canadian border). Last year we had one monster day with Qualifiers and Finals routes, which made for one long day but meant that many parents had to take off less time from work. As for myself, driving from NH to the DC area I will miss two days. Parents count to... The flip side is that the two day format makes for more of an "event", which better preps for Nationals. We are doing this for our kids! The pace today was frenetic but not overwhelming, and we were actually done pumping 120 climbers through two routes apiece by 2:30 pm. Cuts were made, although that is by far the hardest part of my job. The excitement of tomorrow's Finals should be awesome! How did everyone else's Divisionals go? I'll follow up myself when our's are all over.

Loran Props to you and all the NE Crew!! The comp was so well run. As for the two day vs. one day. With "Tee Times" I think a one day is possible. But when you look at both days running until 2:30 and 3:00pm it would be tough to do the Divisional comp on one. Several of the kids in my group did not make divisionals last year. The two day format gave them good experience for what they are about to go through at Nationals. Hope your trip back went well, and CONGRATS to Megan!! Hope you have a great time in CA. Bob

http://www.usclimbing.org/2004results/col/601-results.html The above link gives the results from the Division that is made up of Texas, Southwest, and Clorado New Mexico. The National comp should be a blast. Dirt Debbie

There is a list at either www.usclimbing.org or at www.usaclimbing.org of who is going to nationals. I finished in the top 6 in the FLA or south divisons but am unable to go :(.
