i have a jumbo pack of them and love them. they are rougher than real rock and hurt a ton at first and in winter but will help build callasses and are cheap. good shapes too. thumbs up deal on these bad boys. :righton:

Cheap Holds are a good idea, it's a good way to stretch your gym's hold budget but be advised they are not as "fun" as some of the more sophisticated brands. I'd go for a, like, 25% ratio of cheap holds to "real" holds. Another good money-saver is to buy screw-in holds ("jibs") which are more labor-intensive and require an 18 volt cordless drill but are cheap as f**k and can be placed anywhere, not just where a t-nut is.

Morganic Climbing makes some great holds...they work great and you can negotiate prices right with the owner. And ten bucks says the synrock guy gets his word in on this topic

in my old gym (read old garage)http://www.rockclimbing.com/...mp.cgi?Detailed=2981 ANd just before I torn it down when we moved....I had a ton of holds on it...everythign from the Cheap Holds Crack...to other Cheap holds, Atomic, Morganic, Metolius, MGear Box set....Pusher rails...foot jibs.....and I am suer I am missing like 2 or 3 other companies.... My suggestion it to buy from numerous comanies and get a lit of different feeling and looking holds. I guess it depends on how big your wall is...mine was roughly 800 sq ft. and you can see it had an over hang...2 vert sections...and a steep pitch....get lots, and throw them everywhere on yoru wall and then have fun 8^)

If you are talking about CheapHolds the company then I can highly recommend them. They have a good variety of shape, and good texture. I wouldn't outfit a wall in any one brand oh hold no matter what simply to mix up the variety. The one area the CheapHolds shines in compared to most others that I have dealt with is in customer service. Give em a call and talk to them. When you call ask for James, he owns the company and is a great guy. And in case the question pops up I am not affiliated with the company in anyway. However they are pretty close to me geographically and to give you an idea of the type of people they are, when my daughter wanted to do her school project on how to make climbing holds we called them, they invited us over and spent 2-3 hours answering a 5 year olds questions and showing her what they do. For anyone to take that kind of time with a kid for no thought of reward speaks pretty highly for their character in my opinion. ---MH

cheap holds are great but like everone else here has been saying mix it up use different brands and chep holds will deffinitly tear your hands apart in the begining because of how rough they are. Deffinitly worth the money

Also, I agree with the lack of variety/creativity of Cheap Holds; but I would recommend them for filling up your wall, as said.

I bought the largest pack that cheapholds sold. they are great. As everyone else already posted, don't commit to one company. When my wall was done I had 4 different hold manufacturers. When I moved, I donated all of them to the gym I had been a member of for years. some of the holds were pretty unique, and were a good addition to the gym (so I was told).

Mgear.com used to have a great deal on Metolius holds: 50 holds for 99 bucks, including some roof jugs. I was happy with it.

Cheapholds.com makes good holds. I sanded the texture down a little so they wern't SO rough. They were unneccesarily rough at first. Entreprises makes great quality slopers. Check them out. My favorite slopers.

I am not sure if you are referring to the Cheap Holds brand, or cheap holds as in inexpensive. Anyhow, I find some of Cheap Holds holds to have a bizarre, unrocklike texture. I suppose that is true of most since I have almost never encountered rock with the high friction properties of indoor holds. The best deal I have ever seen is Atomik Climbing Holds. Buy them direct on the web at what are really close to wholesale prices. I probably have 400 of their holds. The compare favorably with Metolius, Nicros, and Franklin. The main reason I have holds from the other companies is for variety of shapes. I already have most of the Atomik ones. I think the "real" climbing holds is BS. Just name brands you pay more for. I am not opposed to that, but let's not pretend that they are really different.
