i just threw up a [very] makeshift wall last night and the holds are basically black already...i was wondering what you would suggest to clean them with and how to do it...yada yada yada...thanks

I'm pretty sure you can just toss em in the dishwasher.

use a little pool acid...in water...an let them sit over night if they are plastic...it works great

I'd second the dishwasher idea, but never done it myself, so don't go too hot...nothing like opening it up and finding a puddle of melted holds stuck to the rack. :shock: Mike...

why are they black?? shoe rubber?? if so, use the dish washer. otherwise i just use a hard dental brus to brush them.

After having washed literally hundreds of loads of climbing holds in the dishwasher I can pretty much tell you that it's safe. I use a little amount of detergant and set it on Pots-Pans. Nice clean holds when done. If your looking for a quick clean, just warm water and a little brushing in the sink. Chris

Vinegar also works well. We use it at the wall I set for, and it cleans well without damaging the resin. ~j
