I recently moved from Missouri to Memphis, TN and can't find anywhere to climb. Not outside. Or even a gym. This gal is experiencing major climbing withdraws. Help!

Not sure which one, but one of the Memphis University has a small gym that you don't have to be a student to use. Climbing Areas: Sam's Throne, King's Bluff in Clarksville, posibly Southern Illinois. When I climb those places, I regularly met Memphis climbers there on the weekend. The Memphis Mountaineers were pretty active at one time too. http://www.memphismountaineers.com/ From their website:
In reply to: The Memphis Mountaineers is the oldest climbing club in the south (since 1979). We are a non-profit organization whose goal is to promote and teach the climbing sports, and to protect the resources of the climbing community in the Mid-South. Club membership dues are $20 per year for individuals and $30 for a family membership. This money goes to support the organizations and people that maintain the regional climbing areas, to maintain our website and to stock the club’s climbing equipment for club trips and rentals. We regularly rock climb at: Jamestown Mtn - Arkansas Kings Bluff - Clarksville, Tennessee Sams Throne - Arkansas Several sites in Southern Illinois (Drapers Bluff, Cedar Bluff, Ferne Clyffe State Park, Jackson Falls) And we occasionally go rock climbing at several other places in Arkansas, Mississippi (yes, there is rock climbing in Mississippi), Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama and North Carolina. Memphis Climbing walls, not sure how accurate this info is but: ClimBRIDGES - BRIDGES Center 477 North 5th Street, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 (901) 260-3775 http://www.bridgesusa.org > Indoor climbing wall with 8 top ropes, 3 auto belays. Wall is set by top climbers in Memphis and changed regularly. Also has an indoor challenge course UT Health Science Center 800 Madison Avenue Memphis, Tennessee 38163 901-448-1811 http://www.uthsc.edu/campusrec/wall.php > Bouldering only facility offering great climbs for all levels of climbers. Guest fee is only $5 for the day.
