Does anyone have experience gluing holds onto concrete? I was wondering what glue would be used to do this? Thanks, Dwight

Okay, I have done this before, in fact, I helped a friend glue rock holds to the underside of a overpass on the Hatchie river. Here's what I can tell you for sure. Go to a hardware store (ACE or something like that) and ask them what kind of glue to get. My friend bought the glue, and as I recall it was pretty expensive. Dadgumit, what was that stuff called. It was called K-12 or K-4 or something like that. The hardware store people will know. It was similar to epoxy. You mix the two chemicals together in a bowl, wait for them to start to set, and then start pasting the rock, and the wall. Take duct tape to hold the rocks to the wall while the glue sets. When you go to set it up, take a big bucket, some dish soap, and a big scrub brush. I just used water from the river and threw the rocks in the bucket with soap, and washed them throughly. Then I scrubbed the wall where I was going to put the holds. Be creative. Collect a bunch of different kinds of rocks. Essentially you are building a gym route. Get crimps, slopers, and rails. Put up a couple of sidepulls. I'd suggest even taking some chalk, and chalking where you are going to put holds before you break out the glue. Stand back and look at it to make sure. Like I said, that glue is expensive, and pretty damn permanant. Putting up the route is going to be a lot of work. Way more than setting a route in a gym. Plan as much as you can. Get more glue and holds than you think you need. Have fun! Travis
