Gyms in Boston?

I am currently considering attending school in Boston upon graduation from high school... I like the area, we went there this week to check things out but due to a wreck (our car was totalled after getting hit by a speeding stolen honda civic which ran a stop sign) my time there was cut short and didn't allow me to do much exploring. I have just started climbing a few months ago, but do it weekly and don't want to have to give it up for the school year in Boston. :?

I know there's a LOT of rock outside of Boston but I won't have a car so I can't get there... so how about some gyms? (I have checked the routes database and nothing is entered for Boston itself).

Quincy is on the end of the red line T (Brain tree side), A very nice rock spot. Boston Rock Gym, is good from what I hear although it's not in Boston, It's in Woburn, a short drive away. Collage rock is a 20 min drive, Black and White rock is a nice spot close by. There aren't any climbable rocks in Boston, but there are some fun buildings on the collage campuses.

If you are going to be in Boston or Cambridge for school, you'll be able to get to the gym in Woburn (and the rocks) without a car. As mentioned, you can get to Quincy Quarries with a little effort or short cab ride from the red line of the T. Boston Rock Gym is reachable by the commuter rail from North Station (Fleet Center), and a short walk (~1 mile?) or cab ride. Also, your college should have an outing club. You can join the club and organize trips (if they don't already have them organized for you) What college are you going to be at? I know a couple of them do trips to BRG for outing club members, and one that I know of even pays for rentals and gym passes from its club budget.

Either way, you'll be climbing. Boston's crags are small but plentiful.
