I think i will build a home climbing wall in my friend's basement, but I'm not 100% sure how to safetly secure it to the framework. It is going to come out of the wall about 4 ft and be about 8ft high. To connect it to the existing wall should i just bolt the framework of the slanted part to the wall or is there a better way? What kind of holds should i buy if i have a limited budget? The Morganic holds seem to be pretty inexpensive. Has anyone used them and are they worth buying?

I attached mine to the ceiling joist with three big-ass hinges and placed a two-by-four on each side of the wall as adjustable 'legs' for support. So, now I can angle the wall from about 20 degrees all the way to around 50 degrees. Only disadvantage is that it's a bit intrusive, but I have it on a winch where I can lift it flush with the ceiling.

just make sure you have plenty of support. I'm just finishing my wall, and i'm coming to the problem of not having money for holds. I found a cool way to make really good commercial-quality holds, and i want to sell them in the near future, so if you want some holds for a good price, go ahead and PM me. I can also make custom holds if u want. As for morganic holds, i got a sample from them, and it seemed decent. They had a nice heavy texture, but the shapes they sent were a little odd. One of them i couldnt really figure out how to use, but i bet they would still be great to keep the route interesting. The material seemed pretty durable, and once again, i liked the texture. Just be forewarned that they fade in the sun and the bolts will rust outside (most bolts will). I also think they have good prices. When I get money, i'll probably but a few from them. If, however, you want a good variety, and a cheaper alternative, just drop me a pm and i can make you some for a good price.
