Other than fat kids on belay has there ever been a descent indoor crack that is good for training on? ie; finger, hand, off width? Or is that just something out of the reach of gym climbing.

I don't really understand your probably rude joke, but there are plenty of gyms that have cracks and many buildings have "weaknesses" that can be climbed. Josh

One of the gyms I climb at has a decent full wall height crack, hand and toe jams, along with a cave crack in their "boulder". The other gym I use just installed a crack on the new section of wall that they just textured, can't wait for them to open it to try it out, and they have an off width "crack" on an open dihedral that makes a good lay back, haven't tried jamming on it yet. cracks in real rock are far better of course...

okay Gideon, I'll let you in on a little secret, seeing how yer a texan and all. Summit Gym, Grapevine, TX, has a 5.12d/13a crack that has only been sent once. I've been projecting it for about a year now, but it's far away, and hey, like I'd project an indoor crack (pshawwww!!!!). Yeah. It's brutal, steep think hands and ringlocks with terrible feet. You gonna be the second ascent?

Nope, Not going to waste time in a gym when there is so much good weather here. Need a project closer to home on the bad days anyway. Thanks.
