Hi all I have noticed that there are a lot of people how have been adding their favorite Gym to the links page. What is the common thoguth. Is it easy to find info on other indoor gyms here...or should we try to specify all the gyms by location? I know that a great majority of people on the site now climb indoors. SOmeone must have some thoughts. Hasta The Russman

The links to gyms can be posted in the links section and the gyms can also be added to the routes section. Check out some of the areas and you will see the indoor gyms. I also disagree that the majority of people here climb indoors, I think that it may be 50/50 or even more towards outdoor climbing. It would make an interesting survey for the site.

I actually recently created the Indoor Gyms category and moved websites for Gyms to that category. However, this is simply an added feature of the site. It does NOT replace the Regions and Areas. If someone wants to post a gym, then they should add an climbing Area. Then they get the best of both worlds. Anyways, I liked the suggestion about the poll, so here it is! Go to the bottom and vote on this yourself! http://www.rockclimbing.com/

I do agree. There is nothing like getting to the top of your climb and sitting there for 20 min. to watch the sun set over the huge Basalt cliffs that rise out of a great river (typical scene I can see on outdoor rocks close to home). But I also love the ability to go out into my gym (garage) and crank up my stereo and play on my own wall and have nobody bother me...I look forward to when I start my own gym and climbing with nobody else there to do the same thing. But I do think that even the best sport and trad climbers "could" be challenged in a gym if the gym is done right. Hasta The Russman

What are monthly fees at rock gyms in your area? I am looking at dropping my regular gym membership and joining a rock gym but the monthlys are a bit outrageous. Just curious.
