Has any of you route setters tried to mimic an outdoor boulder problem or route? How did you do it. What moves did you try to duplicate in the gym? Was your creation a success?

They had a midnite lightning sim in Hangar 18 once. They said it was pretty realistic until I flashed it. Then it was all "you can never duplicate the outdoor inside because of the inset holds and obvious feet..." lol.

You could if you really wanted to, but it would require a huge amount of work. You wouldn't do it with normal bolt on holds, but instead would have to use those custom but sprayed-on concrete wall that mimic real rock.
