I go to an indoor rock gym, (I am new to this site) and I am not sure if that is considered dorky, or stupid, or whatever... but I really love it. Anybody know real rock climbing places in Mass?

No, i think most if not all of us work out at a climbing gym. you can work on whatever you want and it could be a lot of fun sometimes. I live in RI but i've never climbed in Mass. try someone in your area that would be willing to tour or contact. depending where u live, im sure theres a lot of outside options....but hurry, cuz its getting kinda cold Peace

The thing with climbers (and I'm making a gross generalization here..) is certain groups tend to dislike certain groups... some trad climbers don't like sport climbers, some outdoor climbers don't like indoor, etc. Like espinosa said, if you enjoy it, go for it. But definately try outdoor and bouldering also, just to see if you like that. Personally, gyms are fun but outdoor climbing kicks major butt.

Click on the "Routes" section of the website on the bar at the top of the page. They've got most of the good places around here. If you want a really awsome crag though, you should go to Rumney in middle New Hampshire. It's the sweetest rock around. Oh, and ask the people who work at your gym, they'll know some good places. Good Luck.

hey who cares where you climb as long as you do. it's cool to get outside and try something new, but if you can't... hey at least you're on the wall. And my gym is the funnest place to be around, tons of people there and tons of good routes... so whatever floats.
