At my health club there is this really nice climbing wall. Well, in this wall there is a certain crack that they have rated 5.12 A. In my infinate wisdom i have decided to beat this crack before my membership runs out. My membership to this health club expires on the 22nd of this month, so I only have 4 days to get it. I go in today and a sign says the wall is closed. A friend of mine that works there explained to me how the wall should really never be closed like that. So again in my infinate wisdom, I proceeded to turn the sign around and climb anyways. Then came old guy out of the fitness room. He asked me if I had a bouldering card, I said yes and got it out to show him. He said it was expired (It goes to the end of the month, so old fitness room guy knows nothing) and TOOK IT AWAY! So now I have no way of climbing for the 4 days I have left on my membership and I'll never be able to work that crack that has caused me so much pain. My hands are all scraped up for nothing, and now I can't climb untill spring. Moral of the story, never let old fitness room guys push you around while you're on the rock wall. p.s. I called my friend that works there after the matter and he says the guy really knows nothing and that he was completely out of place. Then he added that the guy really chaps his behind as well.

Sucks dude - I had a climb I wanted to get that's like four letter grades harder than my best RP to date, but it's totally my style and I was gonna train for it like a madman this winter. And I just injured my finger, so I'm out for a couple weeks, maybe a month. No way I'm gonna improve as much as I need to in order to tick this climb, and I'm moving away from here in May, so I only have the beginning of next season to get it :? Anyway, I feel your pain, in a loose, general sense.

Like, oh my god guys, I was like sooooo close to sending the Blue Roote, you guys know the one, right up the lead climb wall... anyways, I was like almost sending it, only had to take at the 1st, 3rd and 6th bolts and then falling at the end, I was close!! So on Saturday I go into the gym and try my project... I only had to take once!!! my belayer was calling it a send, but I know I shuould get it with no takes before I do that, right? So, anyways I'm, like, super excited about this and my belayer gets a phone call and has to LEAVE!!? I was mad, and because no one else will climb with me at the gym (I don't know why?) I had to leave it for another day. So, I go in last night, ready to rock, and show gravity who's boss, and THEY HAD CHANGED THE ROOTE!!!???? I was SOO close to sending it. That roote would have been my hardest climb ever! I asked the guy working the desk if they would re-set the roote for me, but he said no???!!! so, yeah, I feel your suffering man.

Mave I should have made clear in my reply that I was talking about a route OUTSIDE, hence the winter training for the [unlikely] spring send. But thanks.

How do you change an indoor crack? Isn't it molded into the wall?

In reply to: Hey Bustloose, Yer a dick. K  Yeah, I think he failed to realise what went on. For the record I am by no means a gym climber. Also I was pissed off because they took away my ability to climb their wall. Your crazy post didn't even make sense when directed towards thinksinpictures. By the way, I got my bouldering card back. Just remember: when someone is a moron, always consult their boss.

Wow, I just realised that Bustloose was being a troll and I took the bait. I mean a REAL troll by the way:
In reply to: An electronic mail message, Usenet posting or other (electronic) communication which is intentionally incorrect, but not overtly controversial (compare flame bait), or the act of sending such a message. Trolling aims to elicit an emotional reaction from those with a hair-trigger on the reply key. A really subtle troll makes some people lose their minds. I retract my previous reply (If that can be done...)
