alright, heres the deal...i've been planning to build a climbing wall for about 2 years now, the thing is...i live in northwestern montana...pretty extreme winters. aside from that, i am more worried about anchoring it. It is planned to be about 30 feet tall and stand against a tree. I am planning on wrapping cables around the tree and pulling choked loops through the wall for leading, then put a top-rope anchor at the top. i need to figure out how to anchor the wall itself into the ground. I plan to anchor it to the ground in the best way possible and also anchor it to the tree. The tree is fairly large (approx 35-40 feet tall) so it will definately hold the weight. Any info/referrals/web pages would be GREATLY appreciated. IM me if you need more information on the conditions, i think thats about the best i have though. thanks a lot, steve

hmm.... guess i worded that wrong. i want to build a wall, using the tree for support, not build a wall directly on the tree...
