I am going off to college soon and the only rock near my school is 2hr+ away. (due to insurance prices I no longer can drive) I was wondering if anyone had cool ideas about stuff to do when the only place to climb is inside. Just like most other people, I love climbing outside, but sometimes certain constraints put a hold on it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!

You should take up slacklining. It's still outdoors but all you'll need is some strong tree trunks, webbing, etc.

got to a gym. get a partner and play a game of "add on". first you do two moves (or one, three, four...), then he does his share and then you again and so on.

Do a search on rc.com for Jan, Feb, March, April, May, etc. -climbing in Minn. That should steer you in the right direction.

Twister is just like the board game (use green, blue, red and yellow holds) which are the primary color holds our gym has. And horse is just like the b-ball game do a dyno, if your friends cant get it they get a letter, try to hold on to certain holds as long as you can, if your opponent(s) dont hold on as long, they get a letter and so on.

You can slackline indoors as well as outdoors. If you want to give the ole slackline a try at your gym ask the staff. They can set one up for you if they are not too busy. They probably already have an area where they set up a slackline but if not it shouldn't consist of much more than them screwing in a couple of bolt hangers and tieing the line to some biners. Indoor games can range... you can run laps on routes, you can race on routes, you can play "add a move", you can reverse the game of "add a move" to where instead of it being "any feet, same hands" it can be "same feet, any hands". that adds a great twist to the game. You can have dino games... if you can't jump too high don't worry about this, just choose a shorter dino-able problem but make the finishing hold a nasty sloper. Lot's of things to do in the gym, just pic one.
