Word. I'm about to graduate from uconn and plan on spending some time in brooklyn, NYC. I was wondering if anyone knew about any rock gyms in NYC that I should check out for some work or play. I boulder around v8-9.

Indoor gyms for climbing are Manhattan Plaza (where I go ), Chelsea Piers and Extravertical. Chelsea is expensive ($50 a day) but they have the best lead wall and a large bouldering area. Manhattan Plaza is $15 a day and has a bit of everything. Extravertical has a tall outdoor wall but no bouldering problems, really. Your best bet, if it's not too cold, is Central Park. Visit http://www.climbnyc.com/home/index.html for some local info on the boulders there. [ This Message was edited by: bitterlotus on 2002-12-30 08:12 ]
