not sure which forum i should have posted this in...so whatever

im tihnking about building a wall...but my house is too damn small inside...would it be at all possible to just drill and bolt straight into brick?...and then spray-coat the brick? any help you can give here is much appreciated

I'd have to assume this is your house, right? If it's not, don't.. If it is, still don't.. It's brick dude, I wouldn't trash it.. If anyhting, create a wooden frame with 2x4's and 3/4" plywood as your base - then attach THAT to the brick - cuz then you wouldn't need to drill and anchor as much into the brick, otherwise 1 hole per brick (for holds I'd assume) doesn't sound too good. Of course, you can coat the wood to help make it waterproof if thats a concern. And sometimes, it's just not practical and you have to go to a gym, like me.. I rent a house, so I can't get TOO crazy with renovations :lol:

ok...thanks dude...yeh...its my parents house...and they said they diont care as long as it cant be seen from the street...guess ill just stick with the gym

depending on the size of your wall, it may actually be cheaper to build a wooden frame and surface. the anchors alone for attaching holds to brick are almost $2 each... it adds up pretty fast!
