What, in your opinion, is the best kind of music to listen to on the stereos in your gym? (if you're in one) techno, dave matthews band, rock, rap, annoying country (sorry country fans!) etc It's crazy, they play everything at my gym. But what's the best? I like techno. (aaagh!)

At the gym I climb at, i'm stuck listening to Nickelback, and Creed, Default, and other crap like that. Now what I want is some real good techno, or hard trance, like some Paul Oakenfold, Crystal Method, Chemical Brothers, or Rammstein. I wouldn't mind some grungy tunes to crank to in the gym. But, that's just me, most people I climb with are techno-phobic.

You have no idea how excited I got when I saw this post. I can hardly contain my excitement. A while ago during a slow day of climbing in the gym we found a cd with a bunch of Dance Dance Revolution songs on it. For those who don't know DDR is an arcade game where players perform dance moves as directed by the game. Most of the music is really upbeat Japanese techno and the like. It is the ultimate climbing music; it instantly got our blood pumping. Now every time we have a slow day, we just put on some DDR and things just get better from there. Steve.

I like to listen to afro-cuban music, like Antonio Carlos Jobim and Tito Puenté. Man that rythm is great. Sometimes I like to climb to bluegrass music, Something about banjo makes me laugh. Bela Fleck Rocks! I also like to listen to Miles Davis, John Zorn, and Medski Martin and Wood sometimes too.

the guy at my gym plays the weirdest, most obscure, formless music ive ever heard. I guess its closest to really really weird trance. Its cool though, i cant deal with normal music while climbing anymore.

Nappy Roots, Hoobastank, Stone Temple Pilots, and Queens of the Stone Age seem to be favorites at the Frostburg gym.

dude, biff, Jobim was most definitely NOT of the Afro-Cuban genre. he was way too mellow for it. Puente is awesome for hypercharged climbing, though. screw tehno, you soul-less leeches.

Classical Music or anything instrumental and relaxing. Oriental flute music is pretty nice. Otherwise I'd rather have no music just silence.
