Yeah, explain yourself! If they are newbies, then they are unfamiliar about etiquette. Why don't you talk to them and explain it?

If they are cutting you off, then flip them off  Really, if they don't know bouldering etiquete, then do the climbing world a service and teach them a thing or two.

nooooo doubt g.g. get a spine dood and stand up and say something. I learned a long time ago that if nothing is said then how do the starters know they are doing anything wrong. Pull your concieted head out of your a$$and maybe impart some of your infinite wisdom on those who are less "schooled" then you are

Good call Indy. They may be new, but so were you. Just let them know, they have to learn somewhere.

What do you mean by jump-in? Are you standing there thinking about the problem, or are you actually on the wall. At the gym I frequent, we all seem to take turns - no two people get on the wall at the same time. Is this the etiquette you mean? RockZen

this guy must not like to check his own posts. and it is true, you are the newb if you are just going to see it and go home and complain on the internet that something happened. damn man get some balls and take care of your buisness, nothing personal and all. but you do need to elaborate on your story more and stop being a selfish jerk

I am a newbie and I don't know what the etiquette is for climbing indoors. Lucky for me, the folks where I climb are more than willing to offer advice! And I really appreciate their comments. How else am I supposed to figure out what I'm doing? :?

every time you mistreat a newbie (or complain about them on this board) something pokes a small hole in your rainfly, causes one of your cams to bind in a crack, or makes you drop a quickdraw. Every time you help a newbie, something lets you climb one grade above your own level for a few moments. karma...believe in it. improve your own.

two approaches... 1st- i second everyone--and besides--think of how good it feels to teach someone something and be the 'expert' for once... 8) 2nd- so yer working the same probs as newbies? maybe yer just not training hard enough... Bwahahahahaha.... Keep it light man-- makes it easier to exist. -p smilies--ugggh

Etiquette? What the hell are you talking about, it's a rock gym you're supposed to share the wall. At my rock gym bouldering is basically social, one person tries a problem, and then after they fall, they give the wall to someone else. Man, I hate arrogant people who think they are so cool as to call someone else a newbie. It's just too bad that not everyone can be as awesome as g.g.32-82.
