i was just wondering if this would be a bad idea(wearing a walkman while bouldering in the gym)? For those who do it, is it worth it? I sometimes can not stand the music that is played in the gym i go to.

why the hell would you wear a walkman....personally, i go to the gym to socialize as well as climb. Also, it's tough to work on a boulder problem with a friend if you can't talk to them. I could see wearing a walkman while traversing or using training boards, though.

I wouldn't bring a walkman only because it breaks my concentration. Even when I run I don't listen to music. Working out requires a high amount of focus for me and and kind of distraction diminishes my workout. Plus, I wouldn't want to lose concentration 20-50 feet in the air! ;)

I like having it near by. I cranks some tunes to get pumped and then climb. Works well for routes and bouldering.

i can see that just make sure you are aware of everything going on around you. walkmans have that ability to take you out of the real world and kinda off by yourself. and try not to fall on it
