I'm going to be setting up a slackline in the upper quarry on Friday (May 9th). I'll be setting it up straight across the water, which will make it about 25 - 30 feet high, and probably about 90 feet long. Anyone who's interested is welcome to come out. I'm hoping to have it set up by about noon or so, and I'll be out there all day. See you out there, -- Scott

Bellefonte is right about in the center of PA, a few miles from Penn State. The quarry is just on the outskirts of the town. Directions are a tad obscure, but I can do my best if you're thinking about coming out. Let me know. -- Scott

OK, so the weather didn't cooperate today. We had pretty constant heavy rain as soon as we got the thing set up. We still got out on it, but no good walks, though. We got to work on a lot of mounts from underneath the line, anyway :D. Here's a picture of Nick getting back on: http://2climbers.org/...-rainy-slackline.jpg A sunny day will definitely be better for spending a little more time on it and getting in the groove. I'm pretty psyched about having this setup only about 20 minutes away from where I'm staying for the next few months! If anyone wants to set this up, there are now three bolts at each end---one set is on the far side next to a small tree and under a small overhang that reads "OZZY" (*sigh*), the other set is 35 feet back from the edge (to leave room for the tightening system), right next to the "island". Both sets are buried under some rocks and dirt, since Bellefonte has a problem with some guy stealing any hardware that's within reach of the ground (weird). You'll want at least a 120' foot slackline. It's a little longer than I thought it would be!
