It looks like there will be plenty of slacklining at Mountain Gear's 2006 Red Rocks Rendezvous. According to the powers that be at Mountain Gear, Asana will be setting up a low line, or hopefully multiple low lines, and even hosting a casual freestyle contest on their lowlines, with prizes and everything!!! Can't wait. Also it appears that Gravity Highline Team is attending the event, and will be setting up the highlines. We have a few sets of bolts for highlines, already in red rocks, and we may even pioneer new lines if we have the time. There are 8 highliners on our team, so there should be plenty of highlining going on when we get there. We do allow others to walk our lines, and had 4 first timer highline sends at our event in Moab last year. We ask that you have the appropriate experience to step out on a line. Have your own climbing harness, have low line slackline skills appropriate to the length of highline you try, be able to reach the send points for the lines safely, be in good enough condition to take a full leash whipper without injury, and be able to tyrolean back off the line if you fall. These are the MINIMUM skills needed to safely attempt a highline walk. That being said, it looks like Red Rocks will have lots going on for our growing slackline community. Should be really cool!!! check us out at www.gravityhighlineteam.com (nothing for sale, just us doing our thing!!)
