As I take my next step I turn my foot perpendicular to the line then rotate my body as I rotate my back foot 180 to be facing the other direction.

Like night said, turn using the motion of a step, try not to stop walking then turn. Also, I find that doing the turn on my arches is easier than staying on the balls of my feet. j-

I turn around on the balls of my feet using the described method, but one of my friends just pivots his feet on the heels. I think its harder, but its the only way he can do it.

I first did mine by accident, sometimes when you lean extremely hard to one side, you tend to turn tht way. well, just do it, so lean a bit to one side and then turn that way around, its surprisingly easy, its just a trick....

You can try bouncing a little. Or even sliding your front foot forward just before you turn around. sometimes if you smoke a piece of a joint, or have a couple beers it helps relax your muscles and turning around becomes easier.

I couldn't help but throw my 2 cents in since I love this hobby... For me the trick was all in posture, once you get comfortable, turn around keeping your back as straight as possible, that way no matter how goofy your footwork is, your set up in a postition to adjust whatever neccessary in little turbulence. I can turn around any way I feel like as long as I can maintain that balance. Quick, Back Straight!

I usually turn while walking. I put one foot down turned inwards pivot on that foot (which doesn't have a heel or toe too much in the way anymore) and then step back with my other foot once I've turned around so I can re-adjust the first foot.

Another way might be to first learn balancing with your feet turned, 90°, straight angle with the line, if you can remain/get in that position, just quickly turn your body 180° and dont move your feet, recover balance and put your feet back normal. i find this a bit harder, but if you have a real hard time learnin it at once, this might be something for you to try, you can learn al the moves seperately, good luck and keep trying !
