I carry the camalots from the 4 down to the .5 then from there i have the aliens. to me this work the best. Unless you want to carry 30 cams then i think that bd has the best cams out there, but they do weight more then most.

Camalots, with the double axle, have a better range per piece, but are expensive. Robots are the best deal for the single-axle cams right now. The larger robots walk into cracks, so they are better in the smaller sizes. For the really small stuff, the aliens rule.

Camalots all the way. Or at least .75 and up. Smaller then that I like a double ("U") stem so that i can get it in with one finger. Although the Trango Flex cams are great too. For the money.

Actually I think a selection of all while the BD going up to #2 and the DMM for the bigger sizes and the WC for the biggest and the Matolius as a doublers set Or at least the minimum of Camelot’s and Friends combo

I use WC's off-set friends, Are they a substitute for the regular friends? Or should my rack include some regular ones as well? So far i've had no problems with the off-set friends. [ This Message was edited by: cathal on 2002-06-16 09:43 ]

Cathal- You use only offset friends? No normal cams? Sounds wierd but if it works. I always think of offset friends as a specialty peice but I don't now the area where you climb so they may work. Ask around your area and find out what other people use. I'd suspect that they use mostly normal cams but i could be wrong.

I have tried a ton of different things in the past, but now my rack consists of aliens (smallest to .5, red ones) and BD Cams from .75 (green) to 5". I use Kong 7" for the extra wide cracks when I'm in the mood to grunt primal.

Love those Camalots and Ailens. By far my favorite pieces are the Ailens, then Camalots!
