just read an article about the first free climb assent (not aid) of trango towers it took 9 weeks, its in national geographic a 1996 one i think (wasnt mine) worth a read if you collect them or can find it. they said they trained on boulders in the desert rather than on routes. anyway worth a read. joe

I read the article a while ago! F**kin' incredible what you can do when your heart is set on it! A bunch of relatively inexperience ranchers, decide to climb a mean mother of a climb, and do it against all odds! Very inspirational!
