Kinda busted into technical climbing when I went to college and got a jump start through the benevolence of a friends uncle, a guide at Quest Adventures, who hooked us up with a 3 day Avalance Search and Rescue/ Winter Survival Course in the San Juan Mountains in Colorado. Since then I was sure I wanted to spend time in the mountains.

I haven't done a ton of climbing in the last 3-4 years. Had been leading 5.5-5.6 in the Gunks, and easy ice. Follow a few grades better competently.

Moved about 30 minutes north recently so the Gunks are a bit further as is the Catskill ice. The bright side is the Daks (especially the southern Daks, and Keene Valley Region are pretty darn close). I'm about 1.5 hours from Keene Valley, and 1.5 from the Gunks. The southern Adirondacks are within an hour drive to most crags. Catskill ice is about 50min-1.5 hours. If I had a choice I'd climb in the Daks so this isn't a problem. I also work in Catskill a few times a month so climbing to the south is possible without much effort. I live about 15 miles north of the state capital complex in Albany. Give me a PM if you want a tour of the climbing.
