All of the camp ridge area in the sequoias is closed except crystall wall through most of Aug., no other closers in efffect that saw.

is that just due to the fire. My guess is that the entire needles area and dome rock would be closed as well. I was up there a couple weeks ago kayacking on the kern and you couldent get very far up seria way. the CDF guy i talked to said the fire was in a wilderness area now and they wouldent be able to do much about it till it starts raining. He also said that it may burn all the way to bishop but i doubt that we'll see any kind of closure there.

The sequoia info pertans to falcon nesting, I dont know about Needles I was talking to some one else about that I try to find out for sure and post it along with any of the closures in the sequoia area. Anyone else have any info.

I just talked to the Fire information Comand Center at (559) 850-9211 and they said ALL climbing in the Needles and surrounding areas is CLOSED for climbing including Dome Rock, the Domelands, and the Needles, campfires are not permitted in th sequias at this time.

This site has the info on the fire thats causing all the closures. Its got all the firemaps and info ect...
I guess its guna be a while before i get to take that trip up to dome rock.
(i'm still looking for the moser needels guide if any one knows where to get it)
