This is a very sad accident to see so many get hurt and loose their lives in one incident. If you got more detail about this accident, please post it.

A 15-year-old boy has died from injuries sustained in a climbing accident on a popular Phoenix mountain that claimed the life of an off-duty firefighter, police said on Saturday.

The boulder they were rappelling off is very popular and has a large eye-bolt on top. The phoenix papers haven't offered up a conclusion yet but the link below offers a visual of the site and a local news feed.

RIP Gary. He was a good man. Two survivors can shed light on this tragedy. One of whom was injured; the other person was at the bottom.
A group of Natl Guard folks stopped at the top, it is along the trail, and gathered the gear not realizing it was the scene of a fatality. If someone knows who they are, please contact Phx PD to describe what you saw initially.
