I've seen a couple of posts on the boards talking about campusing. To cut straight to the chase: what the heck is this?

Thanks,

Kate

campus boarding is a very intense training board which can be extremely painful but beneficial. they are especially good because you dont need much space for them. (ive got one in my cupboard). you need to be pretty warm before you get on one or you can blow a tendon however.
basically they are a series of horizontal slats screwed to some ply wood which is overhung by a few degrees. you train by climbing the rungs without using your feet and thus biuld your finger strength up heaps.
hope this is of some assistance- they are also very easy to build

Campusing - To climb with just your fingers or hands.Your feet doesn't touch anything as it just dangles beneath your body.

I use my figer board at home but you can also campus at the gym if there is a boulder cave with a top rope climb right above it you can just climb up with your arms. Its fun to do with your friends to see how high you can get (if your going really high use commen sense and use a rope) Anyways it just strenthens your fourarms.
