Chalky problem

Hi I wonder if anyone's come across this before or knows of anything I can use as an alternative.
I HATE CHALK!
I've only been climbing a few times, but the thought and the feeling of chalk on my hands makes me want to retch. Is there anything else I can use instead? I've tried climbing in rubber gloves but my hands sweat inside them and make my hands slip.
Please don't say "man up" because, yes, I must be a wussy, but that just doesn't help lol! I just can't use it!

Seriously? You didn't anticipate the fact that your hands would sweat inside rubber gloves?

Try tite grip http://www.tite-grip.com/

or liquid chalk. There are many brands, so google it.

But maybe giving up climbing would be best. After all, even if you don't use chalk, you are still going to get chalk all over your hands from the chalk that is left on the holds after other people use it.

Unless you are climbing on limestone, chalk is not really neccessary, so just climb without it.

It will make stuff harder, so just stick to easier stuff.

But the best solution is to simply man up, even if your name implies that you could be female, though i think the gender troll is also likely, but i am not yet fully convinced.

Honestly. If you don't like it, don't use it. I have a really bad sweaty hand issue with climbing... especially indoors. I've just been dealing with it. You'll have to grip harder, but you'll get stronger faster from it... I know I have (compared to friends who started at the same time and were climbing at the same grade).

Or just deal with the chalky feeling.

Chalk is not necessary for the majority of climbs. Most climbers use it reflexively, as a habit, rather than because it is actually, physically needed.

It can help, but try climbing as much as you can without it. You'll be surprised at how few situations will thwart you because of lack of chalk on your hands.

You do barely need chalk, but its all a mental thing like balance bracelets or tape, doesn't really do anything (unless you're protecting a cut) but somehow makes you climb better...I like chalk, when my hands are dry i feel like i can do ANYTHING!

From what I can see you have 3 choices:
1. move to somewhere where you can ice climb.
2. quit climbing.
3. use chalk.

You don't NEED it to climb (don't need shoes either). It's an aid. But let me ask this question - is your squeamishness limited to chalk? Because if you get into climbing your hands are going to get beat up - cut. scraped, bruised and filthy. in other words somewhat "manly". can you cope?

Wipe your hands on your pants, shirt etc.
You're still gonna get chalk on your hands from the rock though on many popular routes.
