So I live in Florida currently and have no where to rock climb at all. I've been wanting to get into rock climbing for a while as I will be moving to Washington in about a year. I've decided to build a hang board in my apartment, but I've got some questions. Attached is an image of what I see in my head and want to build. I've seen a lot of DIY ones built, but they are normally rather small. This will be mounted to a ridge in my living room that spans about 10 feet across, and I was thinking of the middle for pull ups. And to switch it up, I could hang and span the entire thing back and forth. There would be no foot holds at all. Has anyone done this or is it a dumb idea?

I don't know but as long as its screwed in the wood in the wall then I don't see how you can go wrong. But it looks like a cool design and you could traverse it and it has that little added drop too. You really should start just climbing though for awhile before moving into hang boards, at least that's what I hear.
