The Munter Hitch: Really a must know for every climber or every wannabe climber. The alternative belay or rappel hitch. Of course Munter never invented this nor did the Italians. This includes the munter mule.
Tape/Water Knot: gotta join two pieces of webbing together here is how I recommend it.
Flat Overhand bend/Euro Death Knot: My choice for joining two ropes for rappel.
Course you combine this with the other six knots we covered and you have a pretty good base of knots that you need to know.
