Dude, where in wisconsin are you from? Ya, dont worry, 15 is an alright age to start at. I started at 16 and I do think about "what if I had started earlier...", but it makes no diff, ya got lots o' time to climb yet.

Istarted when I was fourteen and now I'm fifteen, it doesn't make a difference -what age- you started climbing, it's about how much you devote your life to it. I climb witha whole bunch of people, and some of them are like 30-50 years old, and they love it just as much as I do~ so rock hard~ kat

i started about 2 years ago (15) and wish i had started earlier. But don't think about what could have been if you had started earlier. In 3-4 years, people your age will be watching you and thinking, WOW, i wish i had started climbing earlier, so i could be like this guy. It's a cycle that continues.

Hey, i am 18 now and i am just starting up. If you don't have some $$$ flow, then it makes it hard, but if you do, then its great!!! (i don't have much, but a little bit of $$$ lol) i think that as long as you are willing and determined to climb, than it doesnt matter what age you start at. just my 2 cents!

I'm not from Wisconsin, but I'm a Midwesterner myself. I started climbing in Indiana with a friend from church at the age of 15. When we couldn't make trips outside the state we found some old train tressles to keep us busy. Really wish I would've stuck with the climbing more rather than on again off again. 15 is a good age to start and do yourself a favor and stick with it kid.

I'm only 16... and it's good to know that there are other baby climbers out there! I know what you mean, geckobean. It's frustrating sometimes because we have a lack of access to crags (I have to wait until my dad is free so he can belay me... none of my friends are climbers and it's hard to meet other climbers who you trust to belay you when you're only 16). What I have to rely mainly on these days is indoor gyms (dragging non-climbing friends to them) and school climbing trips. All you other young climbers, how experienced are you? What's the hardest rated climb you've ever done? Are you boulderers, indoor, top ropers? Anyone out there lead climb yet? [ This Message was edited by: carabiner86 on 2002-09-08 13:09 ]

I've been climbing at gyms since I was 11 or 12. I'm 13 now and have only made it outside once. I'd climb outside more but I don't have money for equipment or any climbing pals to go with. Oh, well. I'm still pretty good at it! [ This Message was edited by: squirrelgirl on 2002-09-08 14:06 ]
