Hey:

What's everyone doing to meet new climbing partners? I took a class out in Joshua Tree last year and have been continuing to climb since. But I've not found a place to meet other climbers and it's a drag :>(

I live so close to both J Tree and Suicide, but have no playmates!

Are there any good web sites for meeting up with other climbers that anyone knows about? Any social clubs you can join to partner up?

I'm looking into having a guide train me to use the solist, self belaying device so I can just climb alone.

Appreciate any beta on the subject.

put a note on the board at hidden valley campground saying you will be there at 8:30 am on the day you want to climb and list the difficulty of the climbs you want to do. you should be able to find a partner. if you cant and want to boulder search out "the pig". you can always tag along with his group and you might meet some people to climb with.

or hang out and party at the gordon ranch(you can get directions from someone at the campground). you should be able to meet other climbers there.

or leave a "looking for a partner" note at nomad ventures or coyote corner.

The partners forum here on rc.com is one place to start. I've been looking for a prtner in my area too, and one thing I've been doing is talking to a lot of people at REI or any other indoor climbing wall.
