Stim is a Seattle climber, and lawyer. He's in his 80's. Didn't start climbing until he was over 50. Climbed denali in his '60. He is featured on the back of this months R+I leading illusion dweller. He's also led pappa woolsey. He's a good guy.

He's on the back cover of R&I leading a 10b(Illusion Dweller) in Jtree at the age of 83 in an ad for Patagonia.

He is indeed a very nice guy, and should be an inspiration for anyone thinking about climbing later in life. He just returned from a climbing trip to Sardinia with several friends of mine. Not too bad. Most people his age would be happy just to be able to make it on a cruise, much less go on a road trip to an exotic sport climbing destination.

"Like others who begin late in life, he brought an extra zest to his climbs, as though the new sport had given him a second youth." Dorothy Pilley, in her "Climbing Days" (1935) , writing of a friend who had begun his climbing after the age of forty. 8^)
