Has anyone tried the Kong Frog quickdraw's? and if so what do you think of them?
We are thinking of buying one or two for the first bolt or for those tricky critters further up the rock.

When it comes to sport climbing, keep it simple - KISS. Just grab some normal draws. You dont need locking quickdraws, Frogs, or any of that other stuff. Pulling a Frog off your harness during a critically hard move would thoroughly suck.

No its not. you just rack the frog from the binner side, making sure the "jaws" are open. it then just takes a bit of a flick and thrust to slap it on the bolt. easy.
to the OP: they are only really designed for round stock glue-in style bolts (staples or 'P' style) so if your area doesn't have lot of this style of bolts it would be a pointless purchase..

What I like about it, or the idea of it, was that it has enough poke on it design to make that extra few inch reach and that has to provide more safety when you are really looking for it.
Not all our routes would have suitable bolts but a lot would.

One of my climbing partners has one. We used it a few times after he got it, but I really didn't see much utility in it. It stays in the pack and hasn't been used in years.

I have one, and I always take one with me if I am hanging draws on an unfamiliar climb.
I wouldn't want to have an entire sport rack of them, but having one or two is very useful because it gives me about 3 extra inches of reach on a clip. On most climbs I don't need to use it.
I can think of only one climb where I felt I needed to use a frog twice, but it was an onsight, if I had known that there was a good stance past the first reachy clip, I would not have used it twice. (on that specific climb I clipped my frog, climbed past it, realized that it was an excellent stance, unclipped it and switched it to regular draw, and then was very happy to have it with me higher up.
It could come in handy for stick clipping the first bolt, but I don't think I ever needed to use one for that specific purpose. I am usually able to stick clip with a regular draw, and that way I save my Frog for the unknown potentially reachy clips higher up.

I was going to say the triggerwire too. Put it on the bolt side of a stiff quickdraw, and you get even more reach than the frog. It really does make stickclipping remarkably easy. Plus it's like $6 instead of $30
