I've been wracking my brain to remember who it was. He didn't die on the rock, it was something like an annurysm and he died about 12 years ago.

For the longest time I thought it was Paul Piana, but he's alive and well.

I remember this guy was a regular climber at Veedauwoo, he climbed with his daughters, who were young at the time - pre-teen. He taught at the UW and IIRC, he had dark hair. Really really nice guy.

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks.

God Bless,
mik

Ok, I talked to my friends in Laramie - it was Layne Kopischka and he wrote Crack Country Unlimited (only it was mispelled on the cover to be Ulimited :p )

God Bless,
