I started climbing in the mid 1970s and kept it up til the early 1980s. Then I got away from it, and got fat and out of shape. I started back hiking about three years ago, lost some weight, and talked some friends into starting back climbing. I've had a couple of setbacks in the past two years. First, my friends don't really take climbing seriously, so I don't get to climb often enough. Second, I had a massive heart-attack in September 2008. After a month of inactivity, I was back climbing. I still have the problem of finding reliable climbing partners, but I have been bouldering/climbing in the gym every chance I get. I just hope the improvements I've made in the gym translate to improvements on real rock.
