i'm unaware of any bouldering on the overhung limestone around austin until at least the mid 80's. as in many other places around the country technical slab climbing was done in the area much earlier particularly at enchanted rock, and the climbers would frequently warm up by doing boulder problems on the many boulders surrounding the domes.

i remember hearing (or reading) somewhere that john gill grew up in austin or lived here briefly. if this is true i would be curious to know if he did any bouldering on the limestone which is so abundant in and around austin..

certain problems will seep a little after long spells of wet weather, but they dry up suprisingly fast, especially in our summer heat.
