I was wondering if anyone was planning on being there on Wed. to climb? If anyone is interested PM me. Is there much bouldering if i can't find someone to climb with on Wed? I'll be there until Fri eve then have to head back to Boise. Is it stupid of me to just plan on getting a site when I show up? Never been and not too many people are posting on where they are camping, so I thought i'd just look for something that looked good when i got there. see you next week. Kelly

I just got off the phone, and 19 is mine from Wednesday until Sunday. We won't be there early enough to climb on Wednesday. There is a boulder traverse on Practice Rock, according to the guidebook I've got (by Dave Bingham). It looks like so far there's a few people camping in the 20's sites. Rocknpowda, of course we can have a party!! Yeeeaaahhhahaooah!!

Scott, I just bought a city of rocks guide book last night. It looks like the city offers plenty of climbing for every level of climber. It's going to be a great time. Try and join us. Corey

dig - there is a 5.7 two pitch climb with something like 31 bolts on it! Easy and well-protected enough? Seriously, it looks like there are a lot of moderates there. 7s, 8s, and 9s. rocks4jules - how far is said hot-tub from the city? I'm gonna be ripe for a bath by about Saturday!

Oh, excellent. So, post-gathering party at Coreyr's. Everybody, spread the word! Is anyone else going to be up in the City and ready to climb on Thursday morning? Just curious to know since my friend and I will be on the rock as early as possible on Thursday. Be happy to pick up any stragglers who may be around.

I hope to arrive at about 9-10am on Thursday morning. Tony, I hope I can catch up with you then. I have a guide book, any idea on what rock you might be at? Also, the post party at my house sounds great! Everyone is welcome!!!

There is a kiosk across the road (northeast) from Bath Rock. May I repeat nailzz suggestion that we use that as a message center; post rocks we are climbing on, camp site numbers, who has the sweetest rack, etc.

Yo my group is comming up Friday morning and camping over Friday night. I was wondering if it would be better to reserve a campsite or try and find one when we get there? Maybe even squeeze in a site with one ya all? I need some advice in that I never been there!

If you know you are coming for sure, just reserve one. The reason I say this is because they only allow two tents per campsite. Squeezing in to one of our sites might not be an option. It seems like everyone is reserving sites in the 20's. You can call to reserve a site at 208-824-5519. Hope this helps!! Looking forward to meeting you.

Quote: I have a guide book, any idea on what rock you might be at? Thursday I'm thinking either Elephant Rock or the Parkinglot Rock area. I hear that these are both really popular and therefore way crowded on the weekend. So, I thought we'd hit them on Thursday. Also, like Litedawg said, I will stop by the kiosk in the morning on our way to climb and put something there with as many details about where we are for the day. -Tony

Weather Report from weather.com as of today (Sunday): Thu: 61/35 Partly Cloudy 10% chance of rain Fri: 59/35 Partly Cloudy 10% Sat: 61/37 Scattered Showers 30% Sun: 61/37 Partly Cloudy 10% So it looks fairly promising, let's hope for as little as possible rain on Saturday. dig_scott: I've never been there either, but from what I can see there is tons of climbing right off the main road, not too far from the 20's sites. Parkinglot Rock area and Elephant Rock areas come to mind. Also, apparently just a stone's throw from 19 (where I'm camping) there's Practice Rock, with a bunch of easily top-ropable, short 7s and 8s and a boulder traverse across the bottom of it. Some other folks probably know better than I.

I think that most people should plan on driving to the climbs each day. there are some climbs near some of the camping areas, but for the most part, they are spread out enough that you will at least have to drive to some of them. You can walk from the 20's to Elephant rock and practice rock, but it isn't exactly just a hop skip and a jump away. Again, WHAT CAMPSITES DOES EVERYONE HAVE?

I will be packed tonight. Went shopping for food and beer yesterday. Yea, it will probably be cold at the city. I attempted to climb yesterday in the windy, wet and nasty weather, trying to be ready for whatever weather the city throws at me. I can't wait!!!
