Yea, your right about the wind. Oh, I don't think the cafe is called Jeremy's anymore. I can't remember for sure but....something like Beatnick Cafe.. or something. I remember thinking it was a strange name for the area. Anyone know for sure??

Hello all and happy holidays! I've been lurking around a bit to find out what's cookin' at J-Tree next weekend. I'll be there on Friday the 28th and possibly the 29th, if weather is conducive and partner(s) available. Adam & Karen, looks like I'll miss you by a day? Stu Hammett

for free internet access go to the public library right across the highway from coyote corner and the nomad climbing shop. the library is open until 6pm and has a dsl line. if hidden valley is too cold head to indian cove which is lower in elevation and sheltered from the wind. partners are always available at j-tree. put a note up on the bulletin board at the hidden valley campground. just make sure you have a little talk with your new partner before you start climbing about safety and what type of anchor you can expect to see when you get to the top of a pitch. even if the person is very experienced dont be embarrassed to ask questions. mike [ This Message was edited by: newbieclimber on 2001-12-21 11:23 ]

ADAM / KAREN Hi, my name is Eshed, I'm from Malibu. Really want to join for the weekend, when are you leaving ? I hope it's not too late. I got a car and all gear for sport/trad. If you get this before you leave, please email me back at eshboo@hotmail.com with a big "J-TREE CLIMBING" as a title so I don't miss it between all of the junkmail I keep getting there. Thanks and have a great weekend. Eshed

I may be at Josh this weekend, next for sure. I'm climbing very low grades right now, but I know a few killer 5.5 and below. If you've never been to Josh, but done a lot of sport climbing, downgrade what you can climb by about .3 or .4. Josh smacked me and quite a few other people on their first trip, so take it easy. If any beginners get a chance, and with a large group you should, get a good climber to lead The Eye (5.3 but mor or less a solo) and follow. Not the hardest climb in the world, but you won't forget it anytime soon! Brian [ This Message was edited by: bubbala on 2001-12-22 09:19 ]

Got into San Diego last night, staying with relatives in Ramona. We plan to head up to Palm Springs Thursday and stay 2 nights. The Technician should be arriving at his brother's place at Edwards AFB by tonight and was interested, and we may try to hook up on Friday I think. Unfortunately, we'll both be new to Josh. I'll have another issue on friday, that being that I'll have some newbie relations whom I'll be duty bound to set up a top rope for, if possible. (BTW, is there a spot down here in San Diego County where we could go on Wednesday that has some user-friendly TR's??) Hangerlessbolt, you're in for Saturday? Adam - As we talked about before, the Calvert Cliffs power plant is very close to us. Looking forward to showing you guys around, crags and otherwise. Stu

Yes Sir...I'm there! I'll drive in Friday night. Leave a note on the message board at Hidden Valley campground letting me know which campsite you're at. (I'll probably get there around 8:00 p.m.) I'll be in a silver Isuzu Amigo. I'll email my phone number to you in the event you need to contact me. Take care and have fun in San Diego

Right on rrradam, sounds cool. We'll try to fing you all. The only thing with the party I'm taking out is that some of the guys are just getting back into climbing. The one guy has not climbing for 2 1/2 years. So we'll be over at the 5.6's
