Well, since so many people had fun in Josh I propose a meeting at Miguel's in the Red River Gorge I'll be there in March during the week of the 10th to the 16th or so. If anyone is interested: cheap camping ($2 per night), great pizza and ultra-steep jug-hauls. Plenty of trad as well This should also coincide with the spring breaks of several colleges in the area. Almost forgot about the http://www.sff.net/...al/trips/ale8128.gif , it's worth the trip just for that! Note: I will not be there for Easter but it seems that everyone else will be [ This Message was edited by: fiend on 2002-03-19 09:11 ] [ This Message was edited by: fiend on 2002-03-28 12:02 ]

Yo, thanks for the plug... http://www.climbkentucky.com for all your rrg needs. weather in march is fickle. Sometimes it's around 65 and sunny, sometimes it's 40 and slushy. There's always a dry crag with all the overhanging rock, and Miguel opens right around the first of March every year now... so ya'll come on down. I'll definately be there!

Fiend, I will get the dates to you for sure. I know that I will be down there that week but we haven't decided when. I'm coming down with a crew so if nothing else we can get some pizza at night. Hey you climbkentucky.com Red River Gorge climbing freaks... You guys know of anyone who would be interested in getting the second ascent of Thurmonuclear's Crack, a 5.13a in 1983 put up by Jim Thurmond who has climbed it twice. No one else has climbed it though... and Tim Toula and others have tried. Just thought there might be some Gorgers interested.

Well not everyone has a springbreak but if any other working stiffs are gonna be around Miguels at easter then let me know and we'll have an easter party. I may try to make it more than a weekend but it will be easter.

I'm not sure how the weather will be for you guys. We don't ever go down that early because it's still a little cold in Kentucky and it usually rains like crazy. You all have really early spring breaks. Mine's not till March 22! But, we're not going until June.

Ok, I will arrive on the evening of the 9th and will be staying till the following saturday at the latest (leaving early morning saturday). I'll be relatively easy to spot around Miguel's, I'll probably be the only one there with his mother and girlfriend Driving a greenish Hyundai Accent with climbing stickers on the back. Anyone who wishes to buy me pizza, Ale-8-1 or Ben and Jerry's Phish Food ice cream is more than welcome and will recieve special bonus points added to their rc.com ranking I will also be taking beer donations on behalf of rockclimbing.com and the other admins Ok, so who am I looking for? *Edit: Case22, I've been down at this time of year every year for the past 5 now and it's always been fairly good weather [ This Message was edited by: fiend on 2002-02-28 00:15 ]

What Mark, the selfish sod, has failed to mention is that there will probably be 25-30 of us Ontario boys and gals trucking down over easter weekend as well.

I'm confused, I thought Thurmonuclear's Crack was at Hunter's Bluff, not the Gorge ?

OK we've got a bunch of RC.com'ers in the Red right now but who else is going to be there for Easter. I know there are some of you from the west end of the lake heading down so who are we all going to be keeping an eye out for?
