Get ready for the 3rd annual Johnny and Alex Crag Day! August 4th and 5th we will gather and celebrate in the spirit of two important men of the Red River Gorge, John Bronaugh and his Son Alex Yeakley. As in years past we will be depending on the Red River Gorge climbing community to come out and take care of the land you own, the Pendergrass-Murray Recreational Preserve. In honor of Johnny's vision of a volunteer bolting/trail maintenance day, we will work to maintain and build new trails, bolt a few routes, and celebrate the summer with other Red River locals. We'll have lunch from Miguel with trail day bottles and schwag from the Access Fund. The RRGCC will bring drinks and snacks. After a hard days work, we will come together to celebrate with all our friends in the local climbing community! We'll have an after party, at Lago Linda's, with volleyball, a slip and slide to the lake, some BBQ from Mark Meyer, kegs of beer from the RRGCC, and live Bluegrass! If everything goes well, we just may get in a game or two of the infamous Bourbon Volleyball! Plan on spending the night with us at Linda's fabulous resort! This years event will be held at the Coal Bank Hollow area. We will have about 5 routes to bolt and many trails to build/secure. If you want to bolt a route please e-mail Matt Tackett at redriveroutdoors(at)gmail(dot)com so we can get you signed up. First come, first serve. Plan on meeting to carpool Saturday morning at Lago Linda's, next to the pavilion, around 9AM. Otherwise plan on meeting in the Coal Bank parking lot (Solar Collector) around 9:30. All times, as usual, are simply a guideline. This years’ event will help us register effort and resource with the Kentucky GOLD Recreational Trail Grant we got last year. So bring your tools and bring some friends, we’ve got a lot of dirt to move and a few more payments to make. Pictures from past JACD events can be viewed at: http://www.rrgcc.org/...umbnails.php?album=1 and http://www.rrgcc.org/...umbnails.php?album=4. Thanks For Your Support, RRGCC Board of Directors
